Drain overflowing right now?

  1. Stop using the taps, toilets, dishwasher and washing machine that drain to the blocked line.
  2. If sewage is overflowing outside, keep children and pets away. If it is coming from Sydney Water's side, such as a maintenance hole in the street, call Sydney Water on 13 20 90.
  3. Call us on 1300 346 353. Once the line is cleared, a camera inspection shows why it blocked so it doesn't happen again.

Why use a drain camera?

Underground drains fail in ways you can't see from the surface: tree roots through joints, cracked or collapsed clay pipes, joints that have moved, sagging sections that hold water, and pipes damaged by building work. Clearing a blockage without looking inside means it often comes back, and digging to find the problem can cost more than the repair.

Many Sydney homes, from Federation terraces to post-war houses, still have their original clay sewer and stormwater pipes, and large trees in established suburbs send roots through the joints. A camera inspection shows exactly what has failed and where, so you can choose the right repair, whether that's a spot repair, relining or replacing a section.

Who is responsible for a broken drain in Sydney?

In Sydney, property owners are generally responsible for the private sewer pipes on their side, up to the point where they connect to Sydney Water's wastewater main. Sydney Water looks after the main itself. Stormwater pipes on your property are usually the owner's responsibility too. Our report shows where each fault is, which helps work out who should fix it.

For insurance, many policies cover sudden damage but not gradual wear, tree roots or old pipes, so knowing exactly what has failed matters. Our footage and report give your insurer, plumber, landlord or owners corporation the evidence they need.

Homeowners, buyers, strata managers and businesses

We inspect drains for homeowners, home buyers, landlords, property managers, strata managers, owners corporations, plumbers, builders and businesses across Sydney. For rentals and apartments, we arrange access with tenants and residents and send the report straight to the owner, manager or insurer.

How much does a CCTV drain inspection cost in Sydney?

What can a drain camera find?

Tree roots, cracked and collapsed pipes, displaced joints, sagging sections that hold water, blockages, and damage from building work. It also shows the route and depth of the pipe, so repairs can be planned without guesswork.

Do I need a drain camera inspection if my drain has been cleared?

If the drain keeps blocking, yes. Clearing removes the blockage but not the cause. A camera shows whether roots or a broken pipe are behind it, so the right repair can be done once.

Is a drain inspection worth it before buying a house?

For older homes, homes with large trees, or homes with recent extensions, it often is. Original clay pipes can be cracked or full of roots without any sign on the surface, and repairs can be expensive.

Do you repair drains as well?

Yes, if you'd like us to. Our first visit is about finding the fault: we mark it, explain the cause and give you a report. Many plumbers, builders and property managers then do their own repairs. If you want us to fix it, we'll quote the repair and return at another time to complete it, often with trusted independent trades.
