How much does shower leak detection cost?
Shower leak detection costs $398 inc. GST for the first hour on site in metro Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. If more time is needed, extra time is $198 per hour in Victoria and $168 per hour in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and we'll tell you before going past the first hour. The written report with photos is included. Prices outside the metro areas are based on travel time:

What affects the cost?
- How many leaks there are. A single leak on one line is the simplest job. Several leaks, or several lines to test, take longer.
- Where the pipe runs. Long underground water mains, pipes under a concrete slab and hot water lines in walls can need more testing time.
- Access. Apartments and strata buildings may need access to the unit above or below, the roof or a plant room.
- Location. Areas outside metro Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast have their own first-hour price, shown above.

Common questions
Will you pull up tiles to find my shower leak?
No. We find the leak first with non-invasive tests on each part of the shower, so only the failed part needs to be repaired.
Is it the grout, the waterproofing or a pipe?
It can be any of them, which is why we test each part separately. Damp that appears even when the shower hasn't been used usually points to a pipe or mixer in the wall. Our report tells you which one it is.
Should I regrout or reseal before you come?
No. Stop using the shower and leave it as it is. Fresh grout or silicone can hide the leak during testing.
Do you repair the leak as well?
Yes, if you'd like us to. Our first visit is about finding the leak: we mark it, explain the cause and give you a report. Many plumbers, builders and property managers then do their own repairs. If you want us to fix it, we'll quote the repair and return at another time to complete it, often with trusted independent trades.
